Apollo loves to sell this job like it's a quick field test, but anyone who's run "Test Case" knows better. It's one of those ARC Raiders quests that looks simple on paper, then turns messy the second you hit the surface. You're after three machine parts, and if you've been farming ARC Raiders Items or just trying to clear your trader tasks efficiently, this one tends to slow you down in all the annoying ways. You need a Hornet Driver, a Fireball Burner, and a Firefly Burner. On top of that, the game wants proof you actually took down a Firefly during the same raid. Miss that part, and the whole run can feel like wasted effort.

What you actually need to do

The cleanest way to think about the mission is in three steps. First, find Hornets and knock at least one out of the air for the Driver. Second, hunt Fireballs, usually around enclosed spaces, and grab the Burner they drop. Third, track a Firefly and make sure you destroy it before extraction, because that kill matters just as much as the loot. That's the bit people forget. You can have every part in your bag and still wonder why Apollo won't count the task. If the Firefly didn't go down in that run, it won't click.

Fireballs are easier to catch near buildings, tunnels, and tighter interior routes, so don't just stand in open ground the whole time waiting for everything to come to you. Move between open sightlines and indoor sections. That usually gives you the best shot at finishing all three item drops in one deployment.

Loadout mistakes that cost people the quest

You don't need some magical build for this mission, but you do need balance. A weapon that handles airborne targets well is huge, because both Hornets and Fireflies can waste your ammo if your aim is shaky or your recoil is all over the place. At the same time, Fireballs like to rush and pressure you in cramped spots, so bring something that can stop that push fast. And honestly, use your safe pocket. People say it all the time because it works. The worst feeling in this quest isn't finding the last component. It's finding it, getting greedy, then dying on the way out and losing the lot.

Why the reward is worth the hassle

Once you get back to Speranza and hand everything over, Apollo makes the whole thing feel a bit more worthwhile. The Fireworks Box Blueprint is a nice pickup, and the extra Seeker and Blaze Grenades can carry real value in later runs when fights get crowded or chaotic. More than that, "Test Case" teaches you how to swap priorities on the fly, from tracking flying units to handling aggressive ground threats without panicking.
